as usual i have a funny watch story...Mel Blanc collected watches.. one
year i found a whole case of watch bezels at a auction...I paid 300-400
for thelot
then called <el and said i got you some watch bezeels melas a gift
turns out i didnt have crystal watch bezels but common synthetic plastic
ones/.// mel sais i cannot uses them he had a 3 million dolar colection
of Petek phillipe and others onethe biggestinthe world\
I learned a great lesson that day...LOL:) dont buy what you have no

My company made Movie reel clocks I received a USA and Canada design
patent onthe clock inlike 988
I sent Frank Capra and jimmy steweret eacha clock...
then Capras seceretary called me from Laquinta california said Frank
wants to send you some stills..he really liked the clock
But hw died before i ever got stills
a few months ago i watched its a wonderful lifeand inthe opening or
somewhere whenGod and jose[h talk about clarence the angel they mention
he was a clockmaker!!!!
i never connected the dots.. but bet Frank did...
he was sicilian as i am and when Goldberg reel company would ship me
reeels they addressed it to Clock man......
andtold me i was thelargest buyer ofthe 16mm reals inthe world as most
of the customers stopped using the 16mm reals...i think i sold like
close to 500.000,
I also used theTaylor reel companyand finallywe made a stamping diew and
made them in plastic,,as onthe wallthey looked like my metal ones and
were cheaper to ship lighter butonthe wall i could not see the
difference..we used black plastic so ther was no paint issues with the
metaland safre around the home in case they fell
we also made clapper clocks and warner bros had me make a Buggs bunny
clapper clock as well as a warner bros shield Logo movie reeal clock
I had hope to Give mel one, However he died before i could.. we did give
oneto His son Noel..who liked it when we went to Hollywood in like the
90s////he lived on Rodeo drive next to Carl Reiner
ironically Mel Took me to lunch on November 19. 1976 at the hamburger
hamlet in beverly hills..
so whenwe went to give the clock to noel I took himto the same place
even though he offered to take us toa high end place....
he was facinated with my son as he had no kids....
Funny how memories pop up at the oddest times Noel kept saying I wish my
friend could meet you..his wife is from Bermuda///when my mom was from
I said well who is that friend??? he said Kirk Douglas
wow./..a few days later Kirkand Noel got ina helidcopter accidentas they
were at theairport...itwas likea few days afterwe saw Noel he owned a
dughphin helicopter
I think he lives ina cabin at beig bear lake last i heard....
great guy like his dad...and the family cabin was where his memories of
Family were at...
Mel sent me a few letters and we spoke a few times on Phone...he was a
great man....
