*1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind in eMoviePoster.com's August Major
Auction end in two days on Sunday (starting at 3 PM CST, NOT at 7PM, like
our other auctions) at http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html
<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html>Note that some people feel
these reminder promotional emails are "too long", or have "too much
information", and if YOU feel this way, then please stop reading this now,
and simply go to http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html
<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html> right now and look over the
1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind that will begin closing SUNDAY!I
just looked at all the current prices and I saw LOTS of them at prices that
are a fraction of what ANY dealer would ask for them (in fact 271 of them
are at $1 to $10 each, and OVER HALF at just $25 each or under, WAY under
the cost of the linen alone)! Thanks and best of luck on whatever you are
bidding on!HOWEVER, IF YOU DON'T MIND READING MORE, PLEASE DO READ ON,
because there is much useful and helpful information below (including
everything you could want to know about "linenbacking"!).One quick look at
the 1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind will tell you that we have one
of our MOST DIVERSE selections EVER and I am NOT exaggerating!Note that
this "Part IIc" of our August Major Auction SOLELY contains professionally
linenbacked posters (except that most of the linen one sheets were in Part
I, which concluded four week ago)! Most of these cost between $50 and $500
to linenback (depending on the size of the poster and how much restoration
was needed, and the quality of that restoration, and there ARE some huge
linenbacked posters in this auction, like 6-sheets which cost way MORE than
$500 to linenback).Yet EVERY one will be sold, no matter how low the final
selling price (some of them are currently at 80% or 90% off of the retail
prices you would expect to see on them in any dealer's website, and many
are MASSIVELY under the cost of the linenbacking alone, but in some cases
that is due to damage that occurred after they were backed; see the
separate section on this below)!I know that some of you have never before
purchased a linenbacked poster, and if so, then know that there will likely
never be a better time to start than Sunday! Why do I say this about the
linenbacked one-sheets?Because currently, with TWO DAYS left until these
1,100 linenbacked posters start to close, there are an astonishing 271
linenbacked one-sheets that are just $10 each or under, 388 that are just
$14 each or under, a mind blowing 475 at just $20 or under, and an
inconceivable 560 at just $25 or under! That is OVER HALF the auction! If
you go to THIS LINK (http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/3/15.html
<http://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/sort/3/15.html>) you will view all
1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind in "lowest priced first" order, so
you can quickly see how incredibly low priced so many of them are.If you
have never purchased a linenbacked poster before, know that this means it
has been professionally de-acidified and mounted onto rice paper and a
linen backing, and often during that process the poster's flaws are
sometimes professionally restored (and the process of backing usually makes
the fold lines, if the poster was folded, vanish or mostly disappear). When
this is done, the poster displays far better, and is now professionally
preserved!Yet, sometimes, collectors don't take the extra cost of
linenbacking into account when bidding on these, and so sometimes the
posters can sell for well under the cost of linenbacking alone, which is
downright crazy (and makes for incredible buys). Unless there is a LOT more
bidding on the 1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind closing Sunday, then
quite a few of these posters will fall into this category!Note that there
are a large number of linenbacked posters in this auction where the only
specifically asked the restorer to SOLELY back the poster, but NOT do any
restoration (this is called "in the European style", because that was
common among those buyers for many years to have backing done that way,
because they were accepting of the flaws the poster had "earned" over the
years). That kind of linenbacking is much less expensive than the kind where
full restoration is performed, and you should only bid on those posters if
you can either accept the defects the poster had, or are willing to pay to
have more restoration performed.WE ALWAYS CLEARLY NOTE WHICH POSTERS WERE
RESTORED "IN THE EUROPEAN STYLE" IN THE CONDITION DESCRIPTION (and it is
also obvious when viewing the supersized image). We have more about this
below.Want to learn a LOT more about linenbacking, and how it works and how
it affects value and desirability? Go HERE
(http://www.emovieposter.com/tips_archive.php?id=1560
<http://www.emovieposter.com/tips_archive.php?id=1560>) for a page that
gives answers to every question you might have (and it is worth reading
even if you already know a fair amount about linenbacking).Of course, there
are also many of the linenbacked one-sheets closing Sunday that are in the
high hundreds and thousands of dollars as well, and know that many of them
are far under where the same or similar posters have sold for in the past
(and there are many posters in this auction that we have either never
auctioned in the past, or only auctioned once before).AN IMPORTANT ADDED
NOTE ABOUT THIS AUCTION ONLY: If you have looked at the lowest priced
items, then you know that there are many more linenbacked one-sheets than
usual (1,100 vs. our usual 500 or so), but also many more much lesser
condition ones than usual (there are a total of 108 of them that are in
"fair to good", "fair", or "poor to fair").What accounts for this? A large
number of the linens in this auction come to us from the estates of two
unrelated very long time collectors who both passed away recently. One of
them kept his posters stored all over his house, and some of them came in
contact with water after a pipe break. It only had a small effect on some,
and a large effect on others (of course, in every case we clearly note what
occurred). The other collector liked to get all his posters mounted on
linen, but he believed in doing them "in the European style", meaning he
had no restoration done. And he would buy rare posters even if the
condition was much lesser, and then still got them backed. Of course these
posters could have additional restoration done (and the same is true of the
other ones with the water staining). Most of both of these groups of much
lesser condition linenbacked one-sheets will surely sell for VERY
discounted prices, but please consider their defects (and the cost of
further restoration (and look at our supersized images) BEFORE bidding on
them.Everyone likes to make great deals, and you may NEVER find deals
better than these on these lower priced linenbacked one-sheets closing
Sunday! Remember that we have NO reserves or buyers premiums (so EVERY
poster will really have a new owner when each auction ends, at exactly the
final bid price)! Most importantly, we have honest condition grading, and
unenhanced super-sized images of every item (especially important when you
are buying items that have been restored, and must trust the honesty of the
auction house). That is why it is SO important that not only DON'T we have
"Buyer Beware" (which every other auction house falls back on, which means
YOU are stuck when THEY make a mistake, intentional or accidentally), but
what we DO have is that we stand behind everything we auction, with a
lifetime guarantee on all we auction. This is something NO other auction
offers, so you can bid and buy with confidence. All of our past buyers over
the past 33 years (and over 112 million dollars in sales) KNOW that we
always do exactly what we say we will, whether you spend five dollars or
five thousand dollars!Often in these promos, I talk about how many items
are still at very low prices with two days left until they start to close
(and I did list the quantities of those above) but what is really worth
pointing out is that, at the current bid prices, it is likely that a lot of
these items (at all price levels) will sell to dealers, who will then
re-offer them for two, three or MANY times what they paid.If YOU are such a
reseller, we make it super-easy for you to do so, since we will supply the
buyers with unwatermarked images of all they buy (on request) and they can
even "borrow" our movie and condition descriptions, so they can have their
purchases re-listed to their websites (or eBay) just as soon as they
receive them!NO deceptive buyers premiums,. NO often hidden reserves, NO
deceptive grading, NO altered images. Just completely honest condition
descriptions, including the pre-restoration condition!Best of luck to every
one of you who bids on any of the 1,100 linenbacked posters of EVERY kind
closing Sunday at https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html
<https://www.emovieposter.com/agallery/15.html>, starting at 3 PM CT, NOT 7
PM CT like our Tuesday and Thursday auctions).Given the MASSIVE number of
linen one-sheets closing at one time, and the current MASSIVE number of
super low current high bids. this may well prove to be one of the greatest
buying opportunities on such posters EVER!*
