One day in 2007 after my recent divorce I was trying to get my business
back on its feet after completing a chapter 13 reorganization and
getting divorced and having to buy another house and I was financially
bust I still had my inventory and I still had inventory and my
manufacturing equipment to make movie real clocks in clapboards and
directors megaphone
So I was in my van with my son and the phone rang and they said this is
Arnold Schwarzenegger's office we would like to place an order for some
of your clipboards I thought it was some kind of a joke or a scam and I
said yeah right I'm Mickey Mouse they said no we're serious we would
like to buy your clipboards at the time Arnold was governor of
California I thought why would the governor of California want to order
clapboards from me?
Well it turns out it was true he wanted to give away clipboards at the
governors conference where all the governors of the United States gather
and have some kind of convention I believe the actual event was in 2008
so I got the gig end it was in a good timing because I really needed the
cash flow because my house payments were $1084 a month and Lehman
brothers who was my lender how do locked me into a interest rate of like
9% $1084 a month house payment but it was all I could get because the
housing bubble was starting to burst so Arnold's order was a good shot
in the arm what's been funny yes I received a package in the mail after
I did the order and it had a signed 8 x 10 picture of him holding the
clapboard at a podium and was in a presentation folder from the
governors office of California I never asked for a signed picture he
just did it is a kind gesture I was very thankful I actually sent him a
couple Steve Reeves movie poster as w a thank you
I also received an order for a nonprofit group called after school all
stars that I think Arnold was part of they ordered clapboards to give
out is awards two kids and I found out later Arnold what is the one who
started after school all stars so I think he was giving me work then I
didn't even know about was connected to him he seems to be a very humble
guy who is very thankful and tries to help other people out
So then he has the newsletter emails me each morning at like four or 5
o'clock in the morning call the pump club and it offers advice on diet
and exercise and mental health and all kinds of things to try to inspire
others I keep asking him what about the spirit? Yes I believe both he
and Sylvester Stallone are Christians so I've been pleading with him to
discuss faith as I believe the pyramid of life is body mind and Spirit
are combined anyways every morning I get the pump club newsletter and I
recommend it to everyone on Mopo also Arnold holds his Arnold classic in
Columbus Ohio every year so he's really close and I understand why he
comes to Ohio and she was good friends with the founder of nationwide
insurance Company JIM Arnold speaks all the time of friendships with
people in the industry and people that gave him a break when he was just
starting his father Gustav gave him the foundation of hard work and
being useful
What really impressed me about the guy the most is his ability to admit
mistakes as he had a out of wedlock child with his housekeeper and it
really damaged his family and his relationship with Maria Shriver his
wife the fact the courage to admit he made mistakes and he acknowledged
his son Joseph really impressed me because I am an out of wedlock child
myself and I was never acknowledged by my dad until late in life and
then he died in 1994 and I never had the chance to even meet him
face-to-face I for gave my dad but I admit it was very hurtful to me to
experience that furthermore my dad married a airline stewardess and they
named her son Tom my dad's name was also Tom and I have a half brother
name Tom and my son is named Tom be a TV show
So Arnold has a new book out ironically called be useful and I called my
local library Toledo public library and I said why don't you bring
Arnold to Toledo and he could do a talk in a book signing at the
Stranahan center a 2000 Seat theater that has hosted many authors book
signings I saw Peter Bogdanovich there myself
And I think Caroline Kennedy debuted her book there also one year so I
made the phone call and she did the idea in the special events
coordinators at the library and I tried to post on Facebook to Arnold to
give him the idea to come to Toledo we are in close proximity between
Columbus Detroit and Cleveland 150 miles either direction so who knows
if you don't try you never know and I was trying to be useful

Phillip Kainbacher is from Austria and rides bikes with Arnold and maybe
he can inspire him to come to Toledo...
I am still healing from all my physical issues.. But i can still blab
onthephone so perhaps i could get Media to cover itas wellas work with
hispublisher I offered to help for free.. as he helped me wheni needed
help..

Ps I helped promote Leslie Zemeckis film and book back around 2010
called behind the Burly Q on the history of burlesque Alan Alda did the
NARA ration the book featured a picture of a Toledo theater and a woman
I knew personally who is a former stripper from the 60s she told me time
I'm in this movie directed by Leslie and I offered to help and found out
she was Robert Zemeckis's wife God works in mysterious ways that's all I
can say
