Believe it or not in 1960 my grandmother took me to see John F Kennedy
give a speech at the Toledo Lucas county courthouse
Since I was born in 1956 I was five years old when she took me to see
him I cannot tell you a single word he said except the crowd of what I
was told later was 35,000 people were in utter shock and the charisma
John Kennedy had was very apparent because the crowd rude and odd and
we're grinning ear from ear I remember that day like it happened
yesterday I was standing next to a statue of horses on the curb of Adams
Street which is right next to the courthouse in front of it a complete
stranger man lifted me onto his shoulders so I could see Kennedy it was
awesome and everybody was very happy and I later found out it was his
last stop is the senator before he was elected president so cut to a few
years later on that fateful day I was in grade school and the teacher
walked in and said children you can all go home our president has been
shot and killed she was crying profusely so I went home to my
grandmother who took care of me and we sat on the couch watching the
funeral for I think it was three days on CBS Walter Cronkite the most
poignant part of watching the funeral is this the carriage with
President Kennedy's coffin passed John John his son and John John
saluted the casket it was such a somber and sad point and was the first
time I remember all of the US morning together and actually the first
traumatic event I remember in my life then watching everything unfold
where Oswald shot while being taken to the jail
Somewhere in my basement I have a beautiful framed picture of John F
Kennedy that is wonderful
Never forget that day as a little boy and how impressive it was to hear
people happy and Jubilee and all happy to see our new president
Then I also remember 1968 where Bobby Kennedy was also shot by saran
saran and also 1968 when Martin Luther King was shot just one seemed
like when mankind started turning to assassinations is their way of
grieving for being upset with others I think we are experiencing that
same element currently and I pray for the Jews in Israel and I also pray
for the Palestine people who are innocent and for all races and
nationalities as we are all brothers and sisters regardless of our
nationality or race or religion and if you do some research we are all
connected by DNA pray for peace and love for all mankind
