I guess one of the film's of 2023, Oppenheimer, must be in the mix.

Very well made, pretty close to accurate throughout and a superb performance by
Cillian Murphy.

I really enjoyed it.

The Academy love a biopic, so I wouldn't bet against it winning Best Picture,
Best Director and Best Actor, probably even more.

Regards,

Adam

Subject: [MOPO] Favorite bio-pic/historical movie?

I usually avoid them like the plague. In my opinion the older ones are too
sappy and inaccurate. The newer ones go overboard with controversy to garner
publicity. I have always been a Laurel & Hardy fan, for this reason I didn't
want to see "Stan & Ollie." I decided to watch a little of it, and was
completely surprised at the depiction, quality, and story. If you are a fan or
not I suggest seeing it.

I recently had to watch a print of "The Magic Box," to check the condition.
Again I enjoyed the film. I think it was fairly accurate in general, and
entertaining. I know there are others, but these come to mind.

Just thought I would start the year off with a fairly light topic. Hope you
all have a Happy New Year.
