Indeed, Rich. While other collectors of antiquities ranging from prehistoric to latter day appear as sophisticated keepers of various global cultures, we are still poster dorks. I need to remind this group of that every once in awhile.
I was talking with my wife yesterday. I have always had the collecting gene. It started with butterflies and seashells. My acquisitive nature has since evolved into my present day obsession with buying bits of paper that scream at me to routinely drain my bank account; although seeing that someone paid $32.5 million on a pair of old red shoes did make me feel a bit more compos mentis. I'm stoked just looking at my most recent purchase, a linen backed 3 sheet from "White Huntress". It's a blond with big mammary glands fighting a python armed with only a hunting knife. Take that, Dorothy! Ha!
I wish both our numerous lurkers and our few contributing regulars happy selling/hunting, (depending on which side of the fence you're on) in 2025.
Best,

In other words: Little over 0.5% of Heritage's gross income came from movie posters. While the market has grown tremendously over the last 25 years, this once again shows what a tiny, tiny niche in the collectibles market we still occupy.

Betreff: [MOPO] Heritage Auctions Reports $1.867Billion in Sales for 2024
Heritage reported selling $1,867,000,000.00 in sales for 2024

This amazing number includes the most expensive movie collectibles ever
sold - Judy Garland's Ruby Slippers - at $32.5 million and almost
$10Million in movie poster sales (more than any other poster seller, and
with far  fewer items sold in the hobby than it's nearest competitor,
who reported just over half HA's total)

It's an amazing feat
