Joining MOPO roughly coincides with my wedding anniversary. Both dates are memorable and I'm surprised I've survived long enough to celebrate three decades of both life events.

I've made friends here and thanks to my work as a touring I've met some members in person. I miss our departed brothers and sisters...Susan Olsen comes to mind...and I kind of miss those epic flame wars. We were a wild and opionated bunch back then!

MoPo made its debut on American University’s listserv on February 24, 1995. As always, here’s a salute to the original 11 MoPo’ers who were here on that first day: Mahtab Moayeri, Michael Danese, Rob Ellis, Donna Tschetter, Goh Kai Shen, Evan Zweifel, George Nichol, Jeff Static (using AOL name Static555), Cindy Nemeth-Johannes, Adam Ehrlich, and myself. Michael, Rob and Evan are still subscribed.

 

Wow. It’s hard to believe 30 years have passed. Surviving that long on the internet is quite the accomplishment.

 

Thanks to you all for keeping this little listserv group alive for so many years. (Take that Facebook!)
