Arlo,
SA: Here's my simplistic answer, but I'm sure
there is more to this than what I'm going to say for
the moment.
1 - Tibet: Don't want to upset China in which the
U.S. owes not just a lot of $ to, but the U.S.
consumer driven economy depends on buying Chinese
products. The U.S. definitely can't political and
globally afford imperialistic memories to bubble,
which leads us into #2...
2 - Republic of Lakotah: This is the dirt swept under
the rug of the U.S. Sooner or later too much dirt,
and the visits will see the mess. U.S. imperialism
surfaces again, and politically and how the world
views the U.S. after the U.S. invasion of Iraq, what
can the U.S. do? What was the official U.S. comment
on Republic of Lakotah? Even if the U.S. was in good
standing with the world, and was able to deal with
its' imperialistic past more effectively/positively,
could the U.S. be this humble as to recognize a
Republic of Lakotah? I'm currently trying to find out
what the Republic of Lakotah declares as their
political borders. If the U.S. doesn't recognize the
RoL then this as follows:
"Should the United States and its subordinate
governments choose not to act in good faith concerning
the rebirth of our nation, we hereby advise the United
States Government that Lakotah will begin to
administer liens against real estate transactions
within the five state area of Lakotah."
(From the link you gave Arlo)
SA continues: Ok, as for #3 -
3- Kosovo: Well, maybe the Muslims will like us now.
Nothing to lose.
SA continues: Now, what would I do, as opposed to the
U.S. gov'ts sticky situation. What's the gutsie move?
Dialogue with the RoL and see what happens. Dialogue
with the Tibetans, they do have a voted by the people
Parliament. I'm for independence, and a culture of
one is fine with me as long as we can understand each
other aka democracy.
woods,
SA
