SA: I have my ghosts too. I'm all of sudden
fascinated by ghosts. The movie "Orphanage" is very
good, disturbing at the end, I felt pain, my wife
cried. The video game "Folklore" is awesome and goes
into this netherworld where humans who have died leave
behind a residue of pains sometimes that live on in
the people still alive, but the only way to resolve
such pains is to not only search in the past, but to
introspect the present and you'll also need to think
about dead people to clear events up.
I find the concept of ghosts is what a sterile,
materialistic culture calls memory. How does somebody
that died or has long left us still haunt us or
provide goodness? The memory can be as strong as
their presence here and now. This might be Shinto.
It is memory, but it is more than a superficial
memory. It is also what happens with your
father-in-law. It is when somebody says something and
we go, 'Huh? Where did that come from?'

listen,
the earth speaks,
the dead can talk,
listen to your heart,
they died over a decade ago,
but,
my grandfather and grandmother
            - still guide me,
SA
