 But money isn't just a measure of SOCIAL quality. Pure gold is more 
 valuable than adulterated gold; a thoroughbred horse is more valuable 
 than a nag; a well reasoned book is more valuable than a 
 scatter-brained one. Money is social, but what it measures need not be.
