dear marsha, mati and anyone else,
maybe this is mutually agreeable...?
thinking is activity - experience, ie undivided.
the subject and object are abstracted from experience, along with all other
intellectual patterns.
subject and object are a bit like time and space i think...it *seems* obvious
that they have an independent existence - fundamental, bedrock of reality,
constant....but we know that even time and space have no independent existence.
all maya.
what is the intellectual level about? fundamentally it is the *activity* of the
intellect, its dynamic aspect. no SOM here, just thinking. thought and thinker
are abstracted after the fact.
but for what *purpose*? isn't that they key question? (...for an investigation
into values/morals). and the purpose must be quality...good ideas. another way
of saying 'truth'.
but this is not an absolute truth...that is the ideologisation of truth, which
is a social value. absolute truth means collective truth.
no. the truth that beckons the individual is existential truth - what is true
(good) for them. it is the examined life leading to the life worth living. this
is the purpose and measure of intellect.
so the individual *chooses* which social patterns are good for them. the
intellect chooses those social patterns which support it best - this is moral.
when social patterns try to do this to intellectual patterns it is immoral.
-----
what does the intellectual level contain?
intellectual static patterns of value, one of which is SOM.
