I'm gonna tell you all something again, regarding DQ and regarding the morality of patterns. Please bare with me once more.

Platt just selectively quoted Lila again in favour of the view that the free market is a Divine thing sanctioned by the God called Dynamic Quality.

The trick is to see that both things are true. Money is the measure of social value AND > the free market is a dynamic institution.

fair enough, fair enough. But stop and look at this for a moment. What do you MEAN by Dynamic? You can't really mean anything, since nothing can be said about dynamic quality, so the only thing we can say is that something that exists in our static world is more or less open to reacting/following to Dynamic Quality.

I hereby denounce the notion that the free market as such holds any value due to it being dynamic, as no pattern, or institution can BE dynamic. We are screwing up our metaphysic here, as well as sanctioning irrationality by following Platt's line of "reasoning".

Mr Pirsig does indeed write about how patterns can become too static - and that is true regarding the social pattern that is the economy as well as all the other patterns - but what that MEANS is that the patterns becomes too rigid, so as to not be able to gain more DQ input - the input that is always there, and that SQ perceives from time to time as a Quality stimuli not included in their static view of Quality, but then of course incorporated since they cannot reach DQ.

This is quite basic - all patterns should be adaptable, flexible enough to be able to see new Quality ways, should the need arise -

but to go from this to saying that a social institution such as the free market is more moral because it mores around all the time and is supposedly able to react to new Quality input gained from DQ - that's stupidity. Pure and simple. Because at the core, the free market is still at social level pattern, and the DQ input that is gained through it's movements will be incorporated into SOCIAL LEVEL frameworks.

Get it?

Example - DQ "hits":
"Oh, people want this stuff - Woah, that's a new thing! Never thought of that before, let's sell it and make millions and perhaps destroy the world in the process mygodhowfuckingdynamicthisis!"
