Starting my Matisse series. Already I can see things: Madame
Matisse with red Madras. What the heck was he looking for? What
was she looking for? Did they see each other?
Of course one problem I can see is that I'm always confronted with
the man's point-of-view. The man is the subject, the woman is the
object. How sick is that? There are many missing patterns. Thank
goodness for the woman's movement, because these women made sense
although I didn't get it at the time. By the way, along the way I
read about 'women in science'? And of course my hero is the
physicist in MindWalk.
Back to Matisse... There is something I love about his
paintings. Different kind of grace. They're unfinished compared to
a Sargent. But he's much more into the experience, searching,
searching, searching. This is going to be fun. I'm thinking of
changing his color choices, but maybe not. I've ordered a bunch of
books on Indian (continent) art and Japanese art. I want to look at
this work the same way I'm looking at the Matiisse paintings: What
were they seeing? What did they feel? What can these paintings
teach me? I am curious, too, because in these Buddhist books I'm
reading, there are these wonderful drawings and paintings of wise men
with symbols all around them. I am interested in their
point-of-view? But again where was the women. Are there women in
these symbols? Were there women in thier lives? Was their
love? The moon is there. Where is the earth? I like to tease my
mind for my painting's sake. I would also like some answers.
Who is my canvas?

Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss, you'll land among the stars.........
