hiya all,
been readin the posts with interest.
andre you are a welcome addition to the forum;
and chris' post on sweden was instructive for me.
andre, i agree that the MOQ is very important for philosophy, and the broader
paradigm shift it is helping catalyse. i also think that there are other
philosophers, artists and areas of inquiry that are either non-som or point in
that direction. these 'non-som leads' are moq allies and it may be a good idea
to record these.
so.....
plotinus: pirsig compares his ideas most closely with plotinus.
the situationists, especially vaneigem in my opinion, get very close with their
'reversal of perspective': the situation contains the individual as an integral
part.
ecology: the web of life is a similar analogy (or can become one) to the net of
indra.
gaia theory: the earth is a self-regulating system. the dynamic homeostasis it
maintains is inseparable from life. ie the earth is alive and a single sentient
organism. only organisms self-regulate; machines cannot.
sheldrake and morphic resonance - complement gaia theory well
henry miller: ecstatic visionary
jo campbell: explains myth - the mythos is not som, dreams are not som.
therefore, dreaming: our dream life is usually not self-reflective (lucid
dreaming may be an exception); ie it is immersive and unitary.
dreamtime: the mythic origins of the aboriginal world
mckenna and psychoactives - mushrooms, lsd, peyote, san pedro, dmt etc all
reveal the underlying unity of reality. ecstasy helps here too.
hermann hesse....been thinking about the glass bead game recently: another
analogy for the net of indra perhaps
taoism and zen obviously
jung and synchronicity - non-linear time....2012 follows this lead - the end of
time, is, i believe, the end of linear time, or SOM time.
anyway - that is a start, hope you guys get something helpful from it.
