As language evolves, in use and by need, it may be that we find shade and colors of meaning that depart in small, and not so small, degrees from the dictionary common denominator.
On thing that is interesting to observe, of late, is a tendency in use of the DQ/SQ distinction as a simple binary: either D or S. At times it may be better to think of there being a continuum from more Static to more Dynamic. It more finely captures the accretion of evolution, structure and knowledge. thanks--mel ----- Original Message ----- From: "X Acto" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 11:22 AM Subject: [MD] Dynamic Quality > dy⋅nam⋅ic > –adjective Also, dy⋅nam⋅i⋅cal. > 1. pertaining to or characterized by energy or effective action; vigorously active or forceful; energetic: > the dynamic president of the firm. > 2.
