I can only speak as a continent-bound American,
but the reading I have done in modern European writing,
mostly French mysteries and general fiction, some non-
fictionthere is a recognition by authors that French society
marginalizes their Muslim inhabitants to the toothpick-
width different than American blacks were treated by
early 60's American South, separate but distinctly different.

I think from that impression I am left with that the folks in
France have yet to face the place they live and the world
of others living within their lands. They either need to
embrace and enculture their guests or demonstrate an
acceptance of them.

thanks--mel

Subject: [MD] Multiculturalism scam

Hi All:

It appears that Europe is waking up from its love affair with the idea of
multiculturism whereby all cultures are considered equally moral.
Tolerance as the highest of virtues is now being recognized as detrimental
to the preservation of social values. From the "International Herald
Tribune," Dec. 29:

"Two weeks ago, the country´s biggest left-wing political grouping, the
Labor Party, which was responsible for integration as a member of the
coalition government led by Christian Democrats, issued a position paper
call for the end of the failed mode of Dutch `tolerance.´

"It came at the same time Nicolas Sarkozy was making a case in France for
greater opportunities for minorities that also contained an admission that
the French notion of equality `doesn´t work any more.´"

The full article can be found at:

Of course, those who believe in the principles of the MOQ saw long ago that
multiculturism as preached by left-wing academic elites was a scam:

"Cultures can be graded and judged morally according to their contribution
to the evolution of life. A culture that supports the dominance of social
values over biological values is an absolutely superior culture to one that
does not, and a culture that supports the dominance of intellectual values
over social values is absolutely superior to one that does not. It is
immoral to speak against a people because of the color of their skin, or
any other genetic characteristic because these are not changeable and don't
matter anyway. But it is not immoral to speak against a person because of
his cultural characteristics if those cultural characteristics are immoral.
These are changeable and they do matter." (Lila, 24)

Someday the light will shine.
