Dan:

Well, yes, but the researchers who sent the rovers to Mars used the laws of
physics. At a time before the laws of physics (or the law of gravity) were
formulated, they didn't exist. You're not suggesting the rovers were sent to
Mars hundreds of years ago, are you? From what I understand, they've been on
Mars 5 years and counting (after being designed to operate for 3 months!).

Your statements above point to a time billions of years before the advent of
humanity, not the surface of Mars in 2009. Or have I misread what you wrote?

In addition, I am no physicist but from my meager reading on the subject, there
appears to be many competeing laws of physics as well as many laws of gravity.
A quick Google revealed 27 different "laws of gravity." It all depends upon the
content in which they're being applied. So when you say the laws of physics
existed billions of years ago, which laws?

I suggest a re-reading of the passage from ZMM concerning gravity might shed
some light on this. Hell, while you're at it, may as well read the whole book
again. It really is wonderful.

Thanks,

Dan
