Aside from securing the oil ministry in Baghdad, that was one of the
first things on Paul Bremmer's agenda when he was the Viscount of
Baghdad.

The idea was to replace the seeds that the Iraqis have bread locally to
endure their environment with seeds that performed better in the short
run, but left the farmers under the mercy, of company's like Bayer,
Monsanto and DuPont.

They are trying to pull the same stunt in India.

The sad part, is that according to Free market, the farmer should be FREE
to buy his seeds from wherever he wants. Unfortunately, government
official are bribed to force their farmers to buy such seeds.
