though there is so much more to fully understanding the process, re-read. latent asleep, to some extent its all semantics. The real understanding occurs when we get first had knowledge not second hand knowledge. All intellectual writings are of course second hand and can never hope to enlighten us. At best second had knowledge can lead us somewhere we have to make the final connection , That is the reason why we communicate hoping we can make that leap individually. Its all we have to work with in this crystallized world. I'm guessing the evolution you speak of is natural/ego evolution at best. I myself have come to understand that our spiritual evolution is something else. And by that I mean our soul's evolution not my ego personalitie's evolution. Choice does not really figure into this evolution because choice is the ego talking. The ego loves to intellectualize everything like for instance most of the discussion on this forum - it's mostly ego's - no the real work is to push the ego aside and let the soul speak, it is that soul which is asleep. Yes reaching the intellectual level is a goal but thast is not the end point, the next step is to transcend the intellect and acquire wisdom. English doesn't really have a word for it.
