Nice article in Slate about a book by a doctorate in political philosophy
who quit his job at a think tank to repair motorcycles. Has many
observations about the current status of work that parallels Pirsig. Like
me the author laments the loss of individualism to the collective "team."

Interesting, where have you heard this line of thought before?

"His macroeconomic argument is this: "We in the West have arranged our
institutions to prevent the concentration of political power. . But we have
failed utterly to prevent the concentration of economic power, or take
account of how such concentration damages the conditions under which full
human flourishing becomes possible (it is never guaranteed)."
