I don't recall any mention of kids in the story, so I'll go on the assumption
there are none in this case. I only was watching this out of the corner of my
eye, but they didn't come across as "bizarre" in the Springer sense. The woman
(the original "wife") seemed to evidence a great deal of compassion. The former
husband, now woman recalled her lifelong struggle to conceal that she had
always felt like a woman inside, endured ridicule, living a life of deceit. Any
way you cut it, I saw two people suffering to find and express both a love for
each other and a love for themselves.
