[Ron] The gun rhetoric was getting worrisome. [Arlo] Yeah, this was my concern too. I don't mind they typical ad hominems deployed by people like Nick and Platt, they're funny and I usually just respond to them in kind. I see Platt has confused this, trying to equivocate this with direct references of "I will kill you". That's either really sad, or really horrible on Platt's part.
The right-wingers love their ad hominems, and Nick's barrage of socialist, commie, leftists, etc. just follows Platt's perennial buffoonery. When Nick shifted gear to thief, murderer, tyrant, etc. he got more aggressive but was also simply walking lock-step with the likes of radio blowhards like Mark Levin. But the "*pat* *pat* I have my gun waiting right here" put Nick over the edge. To be honest, he doesn't live far away from me, and it stopped being funny. I don't mind being called names, hell that's all Platt has been doing since I joined, but threats of being shot? Yikes. And I see Platt's already it, "socialist censoring"... he's like a vulture that smells carrion. This has nothing to do with with his "right-wing" views, since Platt and Ham have never been censored, despite their "right-wing" views or lack of connection with Pirsig's work. So even with the barrage of ad hominems directed at Krimel, Ian, Gav, DMB, Marsha, Ron, Andre, John and myself (did I miss anyone?) I don't think Horse would've considered this move were it not for the very real and very dangerous threats and allusions to shooting people. It wasn't funny the first time, but after being called a "thief" and "I got my gun waiting for you" a dozen times, one starts to worry. As I said, Platt's been bombarding this forum with ad hominems against "leftists" since the day I joined (and had the audacity to mention Marx, look it up in the archives), and no one is calling for his censoring.
