Craig:
Hi longliners,

If there is a help function in your email system,

search for "carriage return/line feed" or "CR/LF".

For instance, if it is SHIFT + ENTER, then

entering those keys will force a CR/LF.

I think you are on to something with that, Craig. There are so many
different e-mail clients in use here, the Help index is a good call. There
is probably help on the e-mail system's website too, especially if the
e-mail system IS a website. It seems to effect webmail users but Ron and
John use rocket and gmail and no problems there.

Anyone can see what the problem acts like, by opening Notepad. It's in the
Accessories folder. If you copy one of Dave's long lines of text from the
website and paste it into notepad, you can mess with it by clicking "word
wrap" on and off.

Word wrap makes the text stay inside the window. Turn it off and you get a
single line again. This toggles.

What I was saying before was that the web page does not have anything to
wrap t, so the text stretches out and your browser compensates by adding a
horizontal scroll bar.

But as you say, even encoded as e-mail some returns seem to be missing. I
thought "Shift + Enter" made a single space when double space is the
default. Hmm, maybe that's a toggle too?

Like Dave, Matt uses Hotmail and his posts have the same kinds of problems.
Maybe Matt is more generous with Returns and it's just the way Dave types or
Matt may have his system set differently.

I think Ron had HTML turned on earlier. This would be a very different
experience if Horse turned HTML on.
