Let's look at an analogous explanation: 
Q: Why is there a universe? 
A: The fundamental explanation is that b ecause there is God . 
Q: Why is there God? 
A: Because God explains everything. 
The trouble  is that these purported explanations are circular. 
They try to explain what there is by appealing to something 
more fundamental = Essence (or God), then try to explain 
Essence/God by appealing its being fundamental to
