Andre: This is an addendum to my previous post. Bodvar: And the MOQ's very objective is to return to a holistic existence on a higher level (of the spiral).
Andre: You are absolutely correct here Bodvar, the MoQ seeks a more holistic existence/experience but not necessarily on a higher level (imho). I think it more accurate to say that the MoQ seeks a more holistic experience at all levels. We, human beings, have the capability of a range of responses to our environment not experienced by 'lower' evolutionary levels. One of these responses is an intellectual response: we have the capacity to think before we act. We also have the capacity to analyse and think ABOUT possible actions. But also the capacity to ask the 'why?' question. An intellectual question. The question itself, and the intellectual formulations of possible answers thereto is different from the experience itself. Back to the MoQ: one cannot 'live the MoQ'. One can 'live'/experience Quality but one cannot live the experience of the metaphysics thereof. (Although many people do...forever caught in static PoV's living their lives convinced they are alive....and I'm not talking about the John and Sylvia's). The metaphysics is of necessity a (verbal/written) 'creation' arising out of the Quality experience. Within the experience itself one doesn't 'think'. It is 'pure' experience...pre-intellectual (awkward term)...all the ?...millions of miles long/wide/deep. Surely Bodvar you acknowledge the difference between 'direct' experience of Quality and the talking and writing about it (which comes afterwards...and which Mr. Pirsig has formulated in his MoQ)? This has led to the two different ways of dealing with Quality. About direct experience you do not talk...there is no-thing to talk about. The second way is the conventional way, you know, the metaphysical way, etc, etc, etc. For what it is worth, Andre Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
