But Never Ever Forget

Dear Lee,

Thanks for the documentation. I appreciate the background. There's a lot
I'm aware of because I've been interested in DQ for a few months, and I have
a good internet connection and all the advantages of time on my hands due to
the current unemployment
situation.

But having the history summed up in such a cohesive way is very helpful.

I talked to Rudy, yesterday morning, after he got back from his meeting, and
told him what I am about to tell you and the rest of the committee, bearing
on the subject, tone and content of our request drafts to the Patwin/Wintun
tribal elders and Dr. Jack Forbes.

What has come to my mind, is that we should split our efforts in the
interest of efficiency. That is, there should be two different committees
and factions in our group, each focused precisely upon specific tasks. This
should not be "breaking into factions" in a mean-spirited, competive or
negative fashion, but rather a division of labor that suits our individual
drives and skills.

To my mind, we are two factions with two differing goals. There is a
faction I call "DQU" which represents the efforts to get a fully
functioning, Indian University going again, and "DQC", which stands for DQ
Community, which more than anything wants to build a community reflecting
the goals, principles and attributes of Deganidewah-Quetzecoatl.

Now, as I say, these two factions are not at war (how could they be when
they serve the Great Peacemaker?) but attending to differing aspects of the
struggle with "the powers that be" and what seems plain to me, is that those
who wish to establish a living communal tribe devoted to DQ, are those that
would compose the proposal to the traditional people who held these lands,
to the best of our knowing, the Patwin/Wintun Elders and that those who are
most motivated and engaged with the effort to regain accredittation, to
build a University of highest Quality devoted to DQ, are best communicators
with Dr. Jack Forbes and his original vision of what this place was supposed
to be. And both sides support and aknowledge the other with no difficulty
in trying to get the other guy to see it "my way" or "his way" or "this way"
or "that way", but each taking his task according to the moving of DQ, and
finding the unity in brotherhood that Peacemaker teaches.

That's my opinion at this time. Looking forward to more discussion.

John Carl
