Hi John,
Thank you for the correction.  I do not claim to be a religious scholar
nor do I know much about the Christian faith since I have never
been to church and do not have many acquaintances who profess
that religion.  My point was that belief systems are not relative.
They stand on their own.  It makes no sense to compare them.

I'm all in a rush, I just want to correct a slight misperception about the
Bible being "the word of God".

Taken on its own terms, the way a good fundamentalist would, the Bible is
NOT God's words. It's very explicitly the witness of men who thought that
God was communicating with them. Most books start something very much like,
"I was plowing my fields, and the word of God came to me saying, "Son of
Man, go forth and tell this guy over there that he's full of crap."

And you get interesting stories like with Moses or Jonah where they look up
(figuratively) and go, "What? Me? NO!"
