Arlo,

I agree completely:

You}

Even the most cursory read of "global warming" theories has long maintained
that an overall increase in the earth's atmospheric temperature will result
in amplified weather patterns (harsher winters and hotter summers), rather
than a slow equal warming across the globe.

Me} I hear it everywhere, I use it myself. It's become a meme! People
from time out of mind have yakked about the weather as the one safe and
friendly opener between strangers, and now more than 75% of the time the
offer or response will be a reference to "global warming".

It's real hot out, offer: "Man, that global warming is KIlliing today."

Response: "Yeah it sure is."

It's freezing cold, offer" "Boy it's a cold one today"

Response: "Must be all that global warming"

Either way, there's a knowing smile, a search for congruence reflected in
the idea that we're all the dupes of "expert opinion" and all we know in the
moment is the immediate weather.

The interesting question to my mind, Arlo, is whether Fox news creates this
attitude amongst us, or simply recognizes it and reinforces while pandering
to it. Either way it's completely immoral and reprehensible.

I completely agree.
