Paradoxically, I don't believe Pirsig's interest is (ever was) to get situated in professional philosophy, despite appearing to "complain" that it never happened. DMB is making a brave effort. The meta-point is that it may be an impossible task to actually achieve ... and still have MoQ intact as intended. Like Wittgenstein and Rorty, Pirsig already realised professional philosphy was dead. There is only language and pragatism, the stories we tell ourselves to understand and live life. Still, nice to get that written down somewhere "authoritative" though ;-) as Dave's continued attempt proves.
