Guys,
The fundamental ideas about space, time and matter, etc. like everything
else, are determined by certain, archetypal ideas that are the basis of the
metaphysics of each age.

These same ideas show up in art, music, literature, philosophy, politics.
And they were originally derived from theological ideas.

So the mechanistic paradigms of modern science, uniformity, determinism,
reductionism, duality, etc. were derived, paralell, or are traceable to
Newton's theology.

And in this age, the ideas of relativity, wholism, inter-connectedness, the
transcendence of opposites, etc. all have their basis in Eastern
theology/philosophy.

Don't ask me how it happens, but a certain nexus of ideas that once
described God, become the fundamental archetypes of the age, and can be
traced and identified at work-in every single discipline, in all
compartments of the culture.

These same ideas match those identified in the colossal work of P. Sorokin
whom I first read of in Capra's The Turning Point. Capra also identifies
these archetypal ideas and sees them related to those expressed in eastern
thought, and uses the I Ching for a model.

This is what I was starting to say in the thread "the archetypes of the
age".

Later,
Jon
