I chose zebra stripes because then were simple and distinctive. I'm not visualizing (like seeing) the black and white stripes. I'm only getting this visual sense of them. But I'll try to play around with what you suggest. First of all, what colors? Don't those waves signify an unidentified range of color? Even 'color' is a construct. Yes, talking about only human conceptually constructed patterns. As far as I can tell, it is ALL conceptually construction patterns based on some convention.
