Here on the west coast, we call it the Cherry Moon... Ok, actually just me.
I'm proud to announce that the contest is over, and Cassiopeia Dawn Pryor will be the Cherry Festival Parade Queen tomorrow, as the whole town of North San Juan lines the HWY 49 to view the floats, the pageantry, the pomp and circumstance. Not only that, but she'll be featured in the much bigger and more popular 4th of July Parade in GrassValley/Nevada City. The contest was over who sold the most raffle tickets and it appears that Dad's trick of using social networking (Facebook/Paypal) put Cassi over the top. Go Cass! All week she's been practicing her parade queen wave.
