Steve to Andre,

Your objection to this explanation is like objecting to Pirsig's explanation for why
the monk jumped off the hot stove or why the amoeba moved away from the acid. The
simple answer, "because it is
better over here" applies in all these contexts and no MOQer should ever say
that that answer or any other single answer exhausts all possibility for
explanations of these situations.

Andre,
True enough but I wanted to get away from the notion that the monk jumping off
the stove is caused by the heat, or for that matter that the amoeba pulling
away is caused by the sulfuric acid. The ´jumping off´ and the ´pulling away´
are an expression of ´a dim perception of he knows not what´, a ´Dynamic action
without thought´ the ´ongoing Dynamic edge of all experience, both positive and
negative, even the Dynamic ongoing edge of thought itself´, LILA, p 119.

Of course later static patterns of thought are generated to explain the
situation.

It seems like we are in agreement on this point then.
