Hi Ham and all, I was taught that metaphysics is a different discipline from physics. Subject/Object is the reality in the metaphysics of Aristotle. Aquinas accepted that S/O division for reality. Someone embroidered that logic into a divine-right-of-kings quilt.
In Subject/Object metaphysics, the way we know things is carefully defined. Real existence is given the abstracted intentional existence for a thought in my mind to make real the Subject/Object base used in logic. Pirsig said NO! To that division of existence for knowledge. He proposed evolution which I describe as levels in existence, as the arbiter of reality SQ. DQ remains indefinable! Subject/Object metaphysics became the logic for an historical nightmare when ruthless leaders used it as an argument for a divine right of Kings. This was an appeal to the Subject/Object division of reality when the the King's authority was defined to have divine existence. Existence in Essence is multileveled and pluralistic and indefinite for an individual. Free-will is supreme, leaving truth and good under the cloud of: "just what I say it is"! Imho Evolution describes an order in existence creating the metaphysical base for morality. Revelation suggests ten commandments. A law of (order) in seven levels as in sound, and a law of three forces for manifestation, Active, Passive and neutral has been an esoteric description of reality for many years. Math is a defined language used in physics. Math describes a progressive numerical order and the logic this creates. Mathematics is not metaphysics.
