Marsha: I don't know if this true or not about Pragmatism being the only indigenous American philosophy. And as to your point, I didn't find any presented point. What you think is not a point it is an opinion without any substantial point. For whatever reason, in October 2005 RMP wrote that the MoQ was not intended to be within any philosophic tradition. He made no exceptions for American Pragmatism, and you presented nothing to refute this statement. Call me any name you like, but it still does not refute RMP's statement. > dmb: > James is a mainstream American philosopher and pragmatism is mainstream > American philosophy. Marsha: I asked you once before: What percentage of American philosophers would choose as their primary label that of 'American Pragmatist'? Or better yet, what does 'mainstream' mean as you are using it? > dmb: > As Larry Hickman says in "Pragmatism as Post-Postmodernism", James and Dewey > are already waiting at the end of the road for postmodernism to catch up with > them. Marsha: Did you misplace quotes or is this an example of your 'creative' rephrasing/paraphrasing again? And does what "Larry Hickman says" equate to more than his opinion? Call me Lucy if you like, it still does not diminish or negate RMP's statement: "The Metaphysics of Quality is not intended to be within any philosophic tradition...". > dmb: > Sorry, but your objection is just plain ignorant. Marsha: My main objection to your sticking the MoQ in an American Pragmatist box is the 2005 quote. ___ Moq_Discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org/md/archives.html
