Good luck Andre!

Maybe she will present you with some quotes from Steven Hagen's book
which she is convinced was written by Pirsig.

Perhaps she thinks that the universe is only unpatterned stars and
patterned constellations. It seems to be a rather thin view of
reality, but if it works for her then she should use it. It would
seem that to remove herself from this existence she prefers to see
everything as patterns or their nemesis The Unpatterned. This would
relieve her of responsibility, for what can a pattern think? Indeed,
meaning of a pattern is just another pattern, and we are left with a
void without a heart. The spiritual is simply a pattern. Many
scientists subscribe to this form of nihilism, and contend that
spiritualism is an abnormality of the brain, and nothing more than
patterned nerve firings.

Perhaps Marsha thinks that those of us who are spiritual are diseased
in some way. A cancer pattern or something. I have a nice patterned
rug that I like to walk on in an unpatterned way. But it is more than
just a patterned rug. What is unpatterned by the way? That which has
no pattern? How does one define a pattern? I think Marsha's
distinction is that a patterns lasts for a little while as sq, so time
is immensly important to her epistemology. I have asked her how long
it needs to be to become a pattern, but she sent me some kind of a
quote from some book of hers. I wonder if the nanosecond pattern is
really unpatterned in her view?

Like I said good luck with that!
