And yes, actually, there is some relevance: as both a contrast - she's the
arch-priestess of SOM and an Aristotle-lover (though she would not have
liked McKeon), and hence valuable as a contrast - and as to some points of
agreement (see the passage in ZAMM where there's a reflection on how the
Sutherland-sorts of people see industry, etc. as a death-force.
I'm interested in your book and will check it out in time. I've been saying
for a while there needs to be more art in the Pirsigian tradition - to get
it started - and particularly the issues of sex and love and passion need
more dealing, lest it all be too intellectual and arid. As mentioned, I've
done my bit in informing the end of my last original book - "She and I: A
Fugue" with the spirit of the end of ZAMM (and with some very evident

But I don't think that Rand's view on society has much to do with Pirsig's.
I have never heard any comment from RMP about Rand or the "objectivism". I
think there is no reason to discuss her writings on a forum that is
dedicated for understanding the MOQ.
