[dmb] Agreed. We understand reality thru our concepts & our concepts are thoroughly human-made. But what about the reality we will not understand until the future? Does it exist now, even though we don't have the concepts for it? Take the black plague: We now ascribe it to a germ carried by fleas carried by rats. They didn't have the concept of 'germ' back then, but they did have the germ, so the germ cannot be a concept.
Craig > [Pirsig's] saying that reality as we understand it, every last bit of it, > is a man-made pile of analogies. Reality as we know it, earth, sky, science, > philosophy, every last bit of it, is a set of humanly constructed concepts.
