Hi all

This is a must read for MOQers and is a free book download from Paul Levi
Bryant, The Democracy of Objects:

http://openhumanitiespress.org/democracy-of-objects.html

It sets out a non-dualistic, anti-correlationist but realist alternative
ontology to SOM. So it is very much related to the MOQ project and aims. For
Bryant objects is a wider term than mere naturalistic objects and sounds to me
very similar to SQ. It criticises all post modern philosophy for its
anthropocentrism and I think these arguments apply to the MOQ too, I think
Pirsig offered a prize for anyone who could convince him the MOQ was wrong, if
the MOQ is non-realist this may be time to get out his cheque book. Bryant
apart from a few possible ideas does not get DQ in full but that should not put
you off the relevance of what he does have to say, you will find the scope of
his book very close to the discussions at this forum, very perspective 2
stuff, Bryant ignores perspective 1 too much I would suggest but is
nonetheless fascinating clear and well argued, better than I can do, if you
want to open your thinking up or match your views to a worthy adversary you have
to read this, it is free too. Well that is bye from me for the time being,
things seem too bogged down around here to interest me much these days, but
thanks to Paul again for some great posts, and the non-realist folks I enjoyed
the discussion.

All the best
