Hi Adrie, Yes, beech tree sounds right. I used to burn wood to heat the house when I lived up north but here it isn't needed. I don't even have a furnace. An air conditioner is definitely called for, however. Florida is known for its orchids, many which grow wild and nowhere else in the world. I just read a book called The Orchid Thief by Susan Orlean which is really marvelous.
