Greetings,

I'm going to take Platt's lead and pass on a report in The (London) Times which
appeared yesterday
and considers a forthcoming experiment in New York where gold atoms are to be smashed
against each
other in a Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider at about 99.95% of the speed of light. The
scientists are
trying to recreate the conditions of the big bang at the Brookhaven National
Laboratory and it would
seem that there is a theoretical possibility that a never before observed material
known as 'strange
matter' may be created and having, as it may do, a 'Midas touch,' it will infect every
other piece
of matter in the universe in an instant, thus collapsing everything and bringing all
to an end. (I
wonder if Quality would remain!!!).
