RISKY BOWS OUT OF THE POLITICAL MOVEMENT DANIEL: Is the MOQ a good basis to form a political movement? RISKY: I doubt it. Intellectual patterns pointing to spiritual solutions make for terrible social movements. DANIEL: The MOQ has a lot to say about political issues. At least some of them. For example, abortion is moral so long as it occurs before the fetus develops the ability to think. Intellectual pattern dominating biological pattern. RISKY: Or at least before the little squirt gets invited to any parties or social gatherings. DANIEL: The death penalty is immoral so long as the criminal does not threaten to destroy the society (ie treason). Intellectual patterns dominate social patterns. RISKY: Yeah, todays prison's are a real breeding ground for new ideas. DANIEL: It's ok if some animals become extinct because they are simply biological pattern being dominated by social patterns. RISKY: No. The loss of an organism is biological. The loss of a species is intellectual. Evolution and biological diversity can be looked at as one of the highest intellectual advances. The species represents millions of years of adapting and learning to couple with an environment. Losing a species could be looked at as a catastophic intellectual loss. DANIEL: The public promotion of the Arts should be made a top priority since Art expresses dynamic quality. RISKY: Dynamic publicly supported art? There is an oxymoron. Do you mean the private promotion of free art, or the public promotion of sanctioned art ....? DANIEL: The MOQ has a lot to say about political issues. However, it appears neither liberal nor conservative. Ok maybe a little liberal. RISKY: I think a lot of the bad press against the MOQ is that it was a giant slap in the face to conventional liberalism. It is the type of book that Conservatives wouldn't read and liberals couldn't hear. DANIEL: How can a political movement based on the MOQ get started? Well it can’t be a grass-roots movement. A few strong Bolsheviks must lead the way. The ideas are too complex for most people to understand. RISKY: They will evolve (the people and the ideas). The MOQ can become the mythos too. The judge will be Quality. Bolsheviks will just get in the way. DANIEL: Obviously in order to form a MOQ political movement some “ideals” are going to have to be trimmed back a little. What ideals should be sacrificed? What ideals need to be sacrificed to make MOQ sellable to the American public? Can the MOQ ever be taken beyond the personal quest for enlightenment and effect things at a social level? >> RISKY: I would preach 'balance' over 'sacrifice'.
