Virtually the entire planet revolves around the primitive concept of
money. As yet, very few prominent humans have analyzed the stupidity of this
concept and its potentially tragic consequences. As yet absolutely no steps
have been taken towards one day eliminating this stupid concept.

 ROGER :
What is money in the context of the MOQ?

Money is a fungible system of exchanging social or biological patterns of
VALUE. By itself, it is valueless. But as an agreed relative method of
converting patterns of value, it is extremely benficial. >>

JON:

To put it bluntly, Roger, I don't think that a child (or adult, for that
matter) dying of cancer gives a flying flip what money is in the context of
the MOQ.

We can give long, Aristotelian definitions of money all day long, and call it
fancy MOQ names such as "social pattern of value", but ultimately money is
money. You can call a *knife* all sorts of fancy names too, such as "stable
inorganic pattern of value". But ultimately, a knife is a knife. You can use
it to do good things and you can use it to do bad things, such as stab people.

Not enough people IMHO use money to do good things.

I think, frankly, that there are too many comfortable people in the world
today. It's easy to sit in a comfort zone and say everything is ok.
Everything is not ok. The world is a far darker place than most people
realize. Here in America we're free to make money pretty much however we
want, and free to spend it pretty much however we want. So we make money, sit
in our homes and get fat and watch TV, and send our kids off to college so
they can one day sit in homes of their own and get fat and watch TV. From
time to time, when it's convenient, we'll donate to some fashionable charity
to feel good about ourselves. Meanwhile our children are getting fatter and
fatter (except, perhaps, the ones who play little league baseball). I'll
probably get flamed from this, but did it ever occur to some of you that
perhaps our children are just a tad too comfortable as well...?

Freedom is great. Here in America we can sit in our comfort zones and bask in
our freedom and wealth, and not be bothered one tiny bit by the anguished
cries of death and suffering across the world (we just turn up to volume on
the TV so we don't have to hear). Yeah, freedom is a wonderful thing.
