Bob, I believe he was referring to the Minnesota Zen Meditation Center at 3343 E. Calhoun Parkway in Minneapolis. The phone number is 612-822-5313. Several years ago I tried calling them to ask about their connection to Pirsig. I never could get an answer. I live 40 miles west of Minneapolis and grew up there at the same time that Pirsig did. I attended his father Maynard's Memorial Service at the Hamline University Law School where he had been the dean. You can find out more about the influence of Maynard on his son by searching the web for Maynard Pirsig. Many suggestions have been made as to location of the conference. I'm suggesting Minneapolis, where Maynard was Dean of the University of Minnesota Law School until he was of retirement age, or St. Paul where Hamline University Law School is located or it could be in a near Western suburb of Minneapolis where Blake School in located, or even Excelsior, Minnesota on Lake Minnetonka 25 miles west of Minneapolis. We wouldn't know how receptive any of these communities and institutions would be until we contacted them. I have only contributed to this site once or twice before because, while I like to talk, I don't like to write, especially about technical philosophic question. It was a joy for my wife and I to visit Bodvar and his wife Odd in northern Norway 3 years ago, but while he writes well, I couldn't get him to talk about the MOQ; and he has not been able to persuade me to write. So, I would welcome attending a conference and helping set it up if requested. For those so inclined, motorcycles may be rented nearby. I live the MOQ every day. Formerly I was a Presbyterian minister. Now I am a Unitarian, a resident of Buffalo Minnesota since 1972, retired, happily married for 40 years, 5 children, 7 grandchildren, in case anyone is interested MOQ.ORG - http://www.moq.org Mail Archive - http://alt.venus.co.uk/hypermail/moq_discuss/ MD Queries - [EMAIL PROTECTED] To unsubscribe from moq_discuss follow the instructions at: http://www.moq.org/md/subscribe.html
