In a lot of philosophical-type debates I seem to have people are talking
past each other. One reason I like this moq email list is that there is a
common ground that everyone can reIf someone late to. posts a message about
"static inorganic quality" everyone else knows what he is talking about.
That is--we share a common vocabulary and to a certain extent a common
model.
Now, i'm an empericist, and I don't really belive anyhing for certain. I
don't belive that there is a sun in the sky, for example. I just know that
when I look up I SEE a big yellow glowing ball and this is pretty good
evidence that there is a sun in the sky. I know I that I can SEE words on a
page descibing our sun and this is also good evidence. I can HEAR other
people talk about it and this is further evidence. So the way see it there
is also a lot of EVIDENCE that some universal godforce of Quality exists.
