Excellent insight. You know, this brings the
absolute truth go-getters into different light. Those
seeking for an absolute truth put into words a lot of
abstract thought. Their analogies are constructed in
the mind a lot. The geography of their message
doesn't mention trees, cougars, Lila (a female), and a
captain (a male). This is another aspect of
mythologies. These are stories, like poetry, with a
feel, a geography and a use of truth and good
interwoven with a real landscape of trees, grass,
buffalo. Just like the Jumping Mouse story. Yes, the
story had a moral, a truth component, and a glimpsing
of the sacred mountain. Yet, it happened where the
people who would have spoken this story, right in
their 'backyard'. You could walk in the woods, and as
a little boy upon this hearing the story the night
before by the fire, I wouldn't doubt thinking Jumping
Mouse was now flying around in the sky somewhere as an
eagle. Not just pretending we can be characters in a
story, but a story with real possibilities. Star Wars
and Star Trek, one of the 'things' that captures the
attention of those interested in these stories is the
appeal that when we look up into the night sky we
might be able to someday travel as these stories
depict space travel. This sci-fi and all that. So,
walking in the woods and pretending to be Jumping
Mouse is something we all can do, but especially if
you live where a buffalo roams, wolf lives, and a frog
in a lake is seen. A ride down a boat through the
canals into the Hudson River into New York City is a
powerful story due to the reenactment of such an event
is possible. You can see the changes in culture as
you travel further east, Pirsig said. And for those
science lovers, Jurassic Park had an appeal to me, not
just for the scientific explanations and the imaginary
dream of dinosaurs coming to life, but these
analogies, these real analogies that science conveys
about dinosaurs and the ancient plant life has also
these scientists involved in excitement and love. The
story seemed so real, so possible, might it ever
happen, when I was younger it seemed yes it could
happen, and the old saying 'ya never know' still poops
into my head. Hey, and we learn something along the
way in these stories.

thanks.

baby sleeping,
SA
