Quoting ARLO J BENSINGER JR <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>: > [Arlo] > I think SOLAQI is wrong. If intellect _is_ S/O, then what's the point of LILA > where Pirsig describes intellect as "having a defect"?
MOQ intellect is a step above S/O intellect approaching the higher art level, but still within the general level of intellect. You cannot tell if something has a defect unless you are outside that something looking at it. S/O intellect cannot see or judge itself. An MOQ intellect, wherein value dominates, can. > Indeed, according the > SOLAQI, we should EMBRACE S/O intellect as the most moral of the levels, > second > only to DQ itself. Is that what you get from LILA? The most moral of levels is the level above intellect, the art level. > [Platt] > Nothing sad about the dichotomy of true/false. > > [Arlo] > No, but much sad about the dichotomy True/False. What's the difference. Does capitalization make a different metaphor? ------------------------------------------------- This mail sent through IMP: http://horde.org/imp/ moq_discuss mailing list Listinfo, Unsubscribing etc. http://lists.moqtalk.org/listinfo.cgi/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org Archives: http://lists.moqtalk.org/pipermail/moq_discuss-moqtalk.org/ http://moq.org.uk/pipermail/moq_discuss_archive/
