Poot, I spent a significant portion of my youth in Canada (Fort Frances, Ontario - I still don't need an I.D. to cross the bridge), I like your country...a lot. Not impressed with your health care system nor the socialism behind it.
Your stats don't indicate that voting makes a country better either, there are quite a few clunkers on top of Canada - since participation makes for a better democracy - will you be moving? East Timor maybe? They have a great democracy based on voter turnout. The violence is probably a baby step. But at least they vote, when they're not killing or being killed. Well, they really can't complain if they don't vote, and if they voted...well you get what you vote for, and if your candidate didn't win, well vote harder next time - the change is coming, just work within the system, you'll change.
