Smugness with hindsight is a wonderful thing Platt. But the right thing was done - peaceful resolution was sought first. The madman mis-read the situation, and risked invading Belgium - and act of war that was met with an appropriate warlike response. That experience demands more / better diplomacy, not less of it. I didn't notice the Yanks doing anything about it (until Pearl Harbour) - Like you guys don't take international relations seriously until after someone's destroyed your precious assets, as with the WTC too.
