The underlying premise is that low wage workers should earn more than determined
by the marketplace. This means earnings should be determined by some other
measure. The questions then become, "By what other measure?" and "Who decides?"
Then we're right back in the socialist soup again.

Without speaking for either Tressell or Ehrenreich, I think they would likely
agree that the values set by the marketplace reflect the metaphysical
orientation and values set by the larger cultural dialogue. Or said simply, as
the values of the people change, the values of the marketplace change.
